After graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, Dr. Beck began her veterinary career as a small animal emergency veterinarian in Roseville, California. She returned to UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine as a clinical instructor on the Community Surgery Service in 2011, and in 2017 she joined the Koret Shelter Medicine Program as a clinical instructor on the Shelter Medicine Service. Additionally, over the past two decades Dr. Beck has worked in animal shelters in the Sacramento region.

Dr. Beck is guided by the knowledge that every student she instructs will become her colleague, a member of the profession she loves, providing medical and surgical care to animals we all care deeply about. She strives to provide a supportive learning environment that fosters a thoughtful approach to surgery and a compassionate approach to animal, client, staff, and the clinician, themself.
